Interested in design thinking? Seeking ways to apply design-thinking principles to your students’/clients’ professional/career development? Curious about applying it to yourself? Design thinking approaches problem solving by building one’s way forward through prototypes. Over the course of our four hours together, we will discuss the process and mindsets of design thinking; engage in fun, creative exercises; and learn brainstorming and prototyping techniques to use with groups or individuals.
Beth Olson is a Career Coach with 20 years of experience serving students and alumni at Yale, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, and the Harvard Kennedy School. She revels in helping others create and tell their stories, building on her prior publishing career and study of systems thinking. In this workshop she shares her experience with the Studio for University Educators at the Stanford Life Design Lab, where she trained with Professors Bill Burnett and Dave Evans, authors of the book, Designing Your Life, which applies design thinking to tackling the "wicked" problems of life and vocational wayfinding.
