About this event:

For individuals new to the field, paraprofessionals, those whose job has some elements of career counseling but may not have it as the primary function, and for those wanting to break into the field of career counseling.

What makes a good career professional? How do I work most effectively with my clients? Is my knowledge of the Future of Work as well as current trends sufficient? What are the latest best practices, tools and approaches that career counselors use?

In this introductory seminar, participants will use interactive exercises, role plays, and case studies to broaden their understanding of the career development process, with particular emphasis on helping clients move through their career journeys.

Topics to be covered:

  •  Career Development Theories and Application
  •  Exposure to a variety of Career Self-Assessments
  •  Career Counseling Strategies for Effective Career Conversations
  •  Career Information and Resources

*Participants will leave with a practitioner tool kit that will include activities and exercises they will be able to use with their clients.
