It is that time of year - RICDA conference time! We value the opportunity to bring our career development community together for building connections, developing more resources, and learning how we can empower the clients and students we work with. This year our theme is: All Our Different Faces. The people we serve are as unique as each of us. As career developers, we are always pivoting to what is happening around us, and striving to better equip our clients and ourselves.
Keynote: Understanding Mental Health in Today's World with Melissa Picard. Melissa is a licensed clinical social worker and owner of Intuitive Therapy with over 15 years of experience in the field of social work. Anxiety has always presented itself in the career seeker, but many of us are seeing major increases in the clients and students sharing and presenting with anxiety. Melissa's keynote will reflect on our current culture, how to support clients and ourselves, understanding the nervous system and learning, and practical strategies to help people thrive.
50 minute Workshop: Neurodiversity for Career Development Professionals with Maureen Hilton - Sokoloff. Maureen is the owner of Maureen Hilton Strategies and has over 15 years of experience in neurodiversity and autism education, training, and coaching. During her workshop, Maureen will focus on supportive career coaching tools (disclosure, effective job search processes, neurodivergent-friendly employers), and share her greatest set up for success when working with students and clients.
Round Table Discussions:
Community Event: Community events are additional event opportunities marketed and/or hosted through partnerships developed by the CCC. They include, and are not limited to, peer professional association events and conferences, related initiatives, and member led trainings that the CCC board feel are relevant to the mission, and benefit our member community.
